Extractions and wisdom teeth removal

a. Why should I get my wisdom teeth removed?

Sometimes wisdom teeth do not have sufficient space in the jaws to erupt into their normal position. In this condition the wisdom tooth is best extracted so problems like pain, swellings, pus discharge, cysts etc can be avoided or cured.

b. Is the process very painful?

No. We perform extractions only under anesthesia. (Local or general Anesthesia).

c. Will it weaken my jaws or other teeth?

Absolutely not. Extracting an "impacted" wisdom tooth is beneficial for the entire set of teeth as it removes the constant pressure and the subsequent effects of the pressure exerted by the erupting tooth. It prevents bone weakening and bone loss.

d. Will there be any side effects?

None. Please inform your doctor if you are allergic to any kind of medication

e. How long does the process take?

It takes about half hour to 45 mins per tooth

f. I am extremely anxious. Is there an alternative?

Yes. We offer conscious sedation and removal of wisdom teeth under general anesthesia for the more anxious people.
